Getting pre-qualifed is your way of telling sellers that you are prepared and able to buy the property they are selling. Do not get pre-approval confused with pre-qualification. They are not the same. Being pre-qualified requires a little more work on your part, but it is well worth the time spent. Check with your lender- and don't forget to do a little shopping aroud. Not all lenders will give you an excellent rate AND excellent service.
